Pathway’s designers also provide concurrent engineering consultation on our
clients’ existing designs to enhance manufacturability, reduced cost or
improve ergonomics where human interface is an issue. This input benefits
our clients by expediting the design cycle and by improving the final
product.
To prove-out designs, Pathway offers rapid prototyping services using CNC
machining. This process has the advantage of allowing for the construction
of prototypes with the material designated for final manufacture.
Pathway has niche design expertise in NURB surfacing techniques often
required in electronics packaging applications, as shown in this rendering
of the StormPad, a consumer web appliance designed by Pathway for WindRiver.
Pathway designed the housing, internal frame, interface features and the PCB
board layout of the StormPad and then machined the plastic components for a
